Creativity Rocks! Free Photoshop Frame!
Apr 16th
This one is for those special kiddo’s in your life!
Works in all versions of Photoshop CS through CS4, AND Elements. It may well work in earlier versions, but these are what I’ve tested it in.
To use:
- Click Image to download (downloads served by Media Fire)
- Unzip (Macs “UnArchive”) and open in Photoshop or Photoshop Elements
- Open up the photograph of your choice, and drag between the background and the frame layer.
- Resize if necessary – then enjoy!
Here is the image to download!
There is no excuse not to have some kind of creativity in your life. Even with little kids underfoot, there’s always the quiet of nighttime to yourself (okay, mostly!), so flick on your Sylvania light bulbs, go forth and be creative. Do that craft, knit those socks, crochet those doiley’s. But DO something that makes you happy and fulfilled. Creativity Rocks!

What is This Software Used for? Adobe Photoshop.
Mar 12th
Who hasn’t heard of Photoshop? The term has become so widely used that often someone will talk about ‘photoshopping’ something, even when they’re not even using the original program, but rather one of the attempted competitors! It’s a term frequently heard in and around movies, TV and of course main stream media.
Photoshop is the ulitmate image manipulation, and generation program. It is commonly used to edit bitmaps. If you’re unsure what ‘bitmaps’ and ‘vectors’ are, please read this post.
Photoshop can be used to alter the colour in scanned images, until they are corrected. It can be used to build up tremendously complex images from a blank white background, or for it’s more mainstream purpose of image manipulation, and photo retouching.
It’s one of my favourites, and I can easily get lost for hours in all the amazing bells and whistles that it offers. There are so many add-ons available for it too, created by other designers, and easily plug-in-able, that one can easily spend far too much time simply experimenting. Although having said that some of the best works were created by accident, so best we just enjoy! At this stage there is no other in the market place to closely rival it, and if there is anyone out there with a program that they say ‘Can’ rival photoshop, they’re welcome to send me copy to test!
Remember that Adobe offers massive student discount to creative students wishing to buy their products, so be sure to shop with your student card in hand, to take advantage of any potential special offers.

Online Education is Empowering
Mar 2nd
Isn’t the internet like the greatest thing ever?
Think of what it’s done for furthering your education. I signed up for a graphic design course, after checking out numerous institutions online.
I found the perfect course that I really want to do, has great payment plans, and voila, 10 days later, my first module has shipped and I’m officially a student again! Along with a real student card – which amongst other things (totally makes me feel 10 years younger) entitles me to whopping discounts on various professional software packages i.e. Adobe Creative Suite Premium CS4!!!!
With tools like this at our disposal in this day and age I really feel like it’s important to keep learning. There is always something new to learn. It keeps the mind fresh, and the spirit invigorated.
If any of you are interested in finding out which college I’ve chosen for my course, feel free to leave me a comment. Right now I’m going to go through the contents of the package, install my free student software, and get really excited about the future!
